Grant Resources

Return to Parks & Recreation Committee

The Community Development Fund (CDF) is a competitive program and awards grants to eligible communities throughout the Commonwealth, helping cities and towns meet a broad range of community development needs in housing, infrastructure, revitalization, economic development and public social services. Municipalities selected for the Mini-Entitlement Program (ME) Program are determined by using a formula calculation based on high statistical indicators of need, poverty rate and population size.
Three types of grants are available through CFF, each requiring a 1:1 match:
  • Capital grants of up to $200,000 may support acquisition, renovation, repairs, fixed/integrated equipment, and new construction projects.

  • Feasibility & Technical Assistance grants of up to $35,000 are available for analysis, design, and feasibility studies that relate to a cultural facility.

  • Systems Replacement Plan grants of up to $14,000 will provide small to mid-sized organizations that own their facilities a capital needs assessment of their facility.

The Municipal ADA Improvement Grant provides reimbursement funding to Massachusetts cities and towns to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. Funding supports updating a municipality’s ADA Self Evaluation and Transition plans and making capital improvements that improve access or remove barriers in municipal programs, services, and facilities.
