Municipal Vulnerability Prep (MVP)

Natural Hazards and Climate Preparedness

HOW HAS CLIMATE CHANGE AFFECTED YOU: TAKE SURVEY #1

Heath’s Integrated Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness
and Hazard Mitigation Plan

The Town of Heath is working with the Franklin Regional Council of Governments (FRCOG) to develop an integrated Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) and Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP). This plan will help the town create strategies to mitigate the effects of climate change. Once the planning process is complete, Heath will be designated as an “MVP Community.” This MVP status will allow Heath to apply for implementation grants to build projects and advance work that helps the Town be more resilient and prepared for the lasting effects of climate change. Additionally, having an up to date Hazard Mitigation Plan will ensure that we are still eligible for pre- and post-disaster funding from FEMA.

We will be holding a series of public meetings to complete the planning process. All interested residents are welcome and encouraged to attend! More information will be posted here once meeting dates have been set. This site will be updated frequently so please check back soon.

In the meantime, please explore the StoryMap below to learn more about the MVP program and take the survey below to provide feedback. A new survey will be released with each newsletter article – keep an eye out in the Heath Herald.
